This is not something you see often, an original ‘Pre Supergroup’ Laney 60w head. This is not the more often seen PA version, but the guitar version of this incredible amplifier. Think early Black Sabbath! This one came to me by the son of the original owner about a year ago, who’d had this from new, and had bought it from Hamiltons in Middlesex (sticker to the rear). Upon his passing, I purchased it off the family, and gave it straight away to the legendary Andrew Berkeley Martin. He is now releasing it back ‘into the wild’ after getting his fun out of it.
It had to have a new mains transformer in it as the original had blown, but the output transformer and choke are the original Partridge transformers. The mains voltage is set to UK 240v voltage, so a step transformer would be required to play this elsewhere, but this is simple enough! Valves are Brimar EL34 and 3x Ruby/Groove ECC83s.
