This could be the earliest Laney PA setup that has come to market – ever! It was purchased by the previous owner, second hand, in the early 1980s in Brighton from Southern Music, and kept until this year. Originally distributed by Boosey & Hawkes in the mid-late 1960s (sticker to the rear), and kept together ever since. The Plexi Laney logo, and the leather strap handle, indicates being super early, with this one likely to be one of the last Plexi logo examples, and one of the first with the white back panel – serial number stamped 524.
The head has all three original transformers inside, and all the original valves too (Brimar). My tech had to replace a few small components to get this up and running properly, but he’s kept the originality to the circuit board as best as he couldn’t. It really is something you don’t see often. The speaker cabinets / columns set this apart, with the matching Plexi logo (one missing), and original Goodmans black label speakers. These are very similar to the speakers found in the early Marshall 4×12 cabinets. It’s in overall incredible condition, and to find them together is a privilege.
