This stunner has come in from the family of the original owner, an original 1969 Marshall Tremolo 20w head. These are, IMHO, the best low wattage Marshall amplifiers you can buy, the Tremolo 20. This one has been slightly modified, or should we say ‘improved’. My tech explained to me that the way the circuit on these were designed meant the original Tremolo makes this a ‘noisy’ amplifier at any volume. The previous owner obviously wanted to improve this so added in a valve to the tremolo in order to reduce the background noise the amplifier makes. It is now as quiet as a mouse in the background and, to be honest, really has improved the noise level of this amplifier.
So it now has 3x pre-amp valves as oppose to the original 2x, but this has been done incredibly well. It’s a really, really nice example and the sound is to die for! Cosmetically in great condition except the missing back panel. Original Mullard EL84 valves, and a set of 3x period correct Brimar / Mullard pre-amps. It’s a stunner – grab a bargain.
