It’s not very often an opportunity like this comes up!
Last week I was contacted by Mick Wilson, the original drummer from Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich about his old Ludwig drum kit that he’d had since new (November 1965 – stamped internally). It had been sat in his son’s storage unit as is for many a decade, unused, and he had now finally decided it was time to let it go. I was so chuffed to be able to secure it!
He told me stories of how it had travelled the world (some really cool flight stickers on the cases), yet he’d been very particular with how it traveled – always fully cased and incredibly well looked after.
This is also the very kit and colour that Ringo used…
You can see the picture of Mick playing this with Dave Dee back in the 1960s. You can also see the matching Ludwig Supraphonic LM400 Snare Drum, Zildjian Avedis ride, and the Paiste Giant Beat hi-hats ALL together since new!
Along with the drums there is also a set of period correct hardware including; speedking pedal, spur lock hi hat stand, flat based cymbal stand, Hercules snare stand.
My brother runs @moredrums and he gave it a good look over and confirmed it to be incredibly original and in wonderful condition – more pictures info available upon request.
