This beauty came from the wife of the original owner, whose husband had owned it since new. It’s a 1963 Fender Tremolux brownface export version. It was imported into the UK in the early 1960s, with UK voltage, which is a rarity to find! The amplifier has had the original blonde tolex painted black, and is the 6G9-B model too. When I got it, the original output transformer had blown, so we had to get a newer replacement. However the original is still included in the sale incase the buyer wanted to rewind it.
Most components date to 1961, but this is definitely very early 1963 in date. There are a pair of period 6L6 valves, a Mullard rectifier, and a mixture of period and replacement ECC83 valves. The circuit board is really quite untouched which is awesome – a wonderful example, and recently serviced. You’ll not be disappointed. Grab a bargain!
