I am super excited to offer this one up. This bass was found in a loft local to me, unused for many years, when the new buyer of a house found it up there. It was clearly left for many years and forgot about – crazy! On inspection, the buyer of the house found it was a Hamer Blitz bass and contacted me to buy it. This is a 1980s Hamer Blitz Bass, the ‘weapon of choice’ for many hair bands of the day. Originally, Hamer’s customers were limited to big-name touring groups such as Cheap Trick, Kiss, Bad Company, Wishbone Ash, Jethro Tull, Def Leppard and Savoy Brown. Hamer USA are Pro-Level guitars. The guitars were virtually hand built by a staff of 12 people only completing 10 guitars weekly. This is one of the early ones and goodness knows how it ended up in a loft in Nottingham!?
The bass has been re-finished in the past (non-professionally) to look like Rick Savage’s Blitz. It’s been battered and bruised in the past from many years of using. The guitar to me screams that it has been gigged and gigged often so, again, who knows who the previous owner was!? It is in working order and has recently been cleaned up and restrung by my guitar tech. The case has taken the brunt of the storage, with marks and a missing handle, but still does the job and is the original one. Overall a nice bass guitar, top quality, and very likely got some nice history to it too! Please the pictures as these form part of my description.
