We have had the privilege of purchasing this kit from the son of the original owner from new. When we got it, it had been sat unused for many many years and really needed a good clean. Big thanks to More Drums for cleaning this up and getting it back to it’s real potential. This is one of the nicest 1963 Ludwig Super Classic kits I’ve seen for sale, the same year and colour as Ringo Starr! I doubt you’ll find another like it. I believe the kit has been used with single heads for quite some time, the bearing edges on the batter sides are all ok, however the resonant sides are a bit rough, the kit still tunes up fine but it is worth mentioning to the buyer. 13” tom – serial no. 8327
– Some tom rash on the wrap
– Original interior paint
– Orig working red felt baseball damper
– Orig resonant hoop
– New tension rods
– New batter hoop
– Replacement wing nut on tom bracket
– Minor pitting to the chrome
– some marks/wear on the wrap
– New Remo Emperor Coated batter head
– New Remo Emperor Clear resonant head
– Wrap is tight to the drum
16” floor tom – serial no. 7376
– Original interior paint
– Orig working red felt baseball damper
– Orig resonant hoop
– Original floor tom legs (show signs of pitting)
– New tension rods, batter hoop, Remo Emperor Coated batter head, Remo Emperor Clear resonant head
– some marks/wear on the wrap
– Wrap is tight to the drum
22” bass – serial no. 6424
– Original interior paint
– Orig resonant bass drum hoop with inlay (slightly out of round and has a small split in hoop).
– Orig spurs (show signs of pitting)
– New batter side hoop with Delmar USA 60s oyster black inlay (made at ST Drums)
– New tension rods
– Original claws with some minor pitting/chrome loss
– New Remo display head with Ludwig decal
– New Evans Emad batter head
– some marks/wear on the wrap, these also a small circular section missing at the top, presumably from a cigarette
– Wrap is tight to the drum
– Replacement bolt on the consolette rail
– Tom bracket/l-arm has worn and doesn’t hold very well, tom would be better on a snare stand
– Some missing wrap on the edge on the resonant side, this isn’t visible when heads are on
