I’m so excited to offer this beauty for sale – an original 1964 Hofner 500/1 in players grade (and affordable) condition. The serial number dates this to 1964, the pot code is 1964, and the characteristics too, which is the same as McCartney’s. It’s THE bass to have for sure. When I got this, the electrics were dead, so I had both pickups rewound to bring it back to life. The neck has been secured in the past, and it is now as solid as a rock and will not move.
It’s got bumps and scrapes all over the guitar, some would say natural relic’ing, which is awesome. It plays great and sounds awesome with the flat wounds I have had put on it! Comes with a fitted hard case too. You’ll really not be disappointed with this one – it’s a beauty! Please see the pictures below as these form part of my description.
